Aristotle’s School in Naoussa
Aristotle was born in 384 BCE in Stagirus. The School of Aristotle is the place where the Famous Greek Philosopher taught Great King Alexander, and located at the Nympheon of Mieza (Naoussa), at the district of Isvoria.
The area of the Nympheon is very impressive natural landscape, rich in water and vegetation.
Nympheon was a sanctuary of the Nymphs and you can easily understand why.

In 343 Aristotle was invited to Macedonia by the King Phillip II to teach his young son Alexander and the place converted into school. In an area between two natural caves, the rock was carved in a rectangle and an Ionic colonnade was added to form a roofed, L-shaped stoa.
The Aristotle’s School identified by archaeologists and can still be visited.
