Red Eggs - Greek Easter
Traditionally we dye our Easter Eggs in the morning of Great Thursday and we decorate our tables with big plates with colorful eggs inside.
In past, the most easter eggs were red but the last 20-30 years people dye eggs with other colors also for decoration but the important Easter Eggs are the Red Eggs because the red considered the blood of Christ.
After Resurrection in Great Saturday and the Sunday of Easter we use to break our eggs. Every person takes one egg and hit the egg of other person. Every time we hit an egg we pass the message of Resurrection.
The first person’s message is about Jesus Resurrection (Xristos Anesti) and the second person tell that it’s truth (Alithos Anesti).
