My Greek Travel

In Greece people speak Greek, modern Greek. Some Greeks learn ancient Greek in school also but we never speak ancient Greek.

But Greece has tourism many years so people learn foreign languages here. English is the most familiar language and almost any young people can speak english.

You can also find people -which work with tourists- spoke many other languages as italian or german or russian.

Some islands or hotels have tourists from specific countries, so, they hire people which can talk the specific languages.

It’s good to learn some basic Greek before your travel here if you want to speak with old local people in small villages. Old people are wise and it’s good to talk with them if you can. But most of them can’t talk another language than Greek. Well to be honest they usually went to school only 5-6 years in their life.
